Cinnamon (Ceylon) Powder
Cinnamon has been known from remote antiquity, with imports to Egypt known as early as 2000 BCE. The cinnamon tree stems are cut and processed by scraping off the outer bark, loosening the inner bark which is then pried off in log rolls. The rolls (or quills) are dried for several hours and cutted into 5 - 10 cm rolls, after which they are grinded into powder. (Ceylon) cinnamon powder has many uses, such as in dessert recipes and spicy drinks.
