Hazelnuts, Shelled, Blanched and Roasted

Blanched hazelnuts (or cobnuts or filbert nuts) are shelled and have been treated with hot water to soften the seedcoat, which is then removed to reveal the white inner fruit, followed by roasting them. Hazelnuts are rich in protein, monounsaturated fat, vitamins and minerals. The can be used in confectionery to make praline or in many other dished and baked goods.
